About the Role:

The Teacher for the Visually Impaired will play a key role in supporting students with visual impairments by providing individualized instruction and services that foster academic access, functional independence, and engagement in the classroom. Youll collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families to help ensure a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct services to students as required by Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Maintain accurate documentation, case records, and progress reports

  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to adapt and modify curriculum

  • Support student development in areas such as orientation and mobility, assistive technology, and daily living skills

  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations related to special education

Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Educator Certification in Visual Disabilities (or eligibility to obtain)

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or related field

  • Preferred: Experience working in K12 educational settings with visually impaired students

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
