Reports To: Assistant ESS Director / SPED Teacher
Hiring Status: At-Will
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
FTE: 1.0
Schedule: 7:30-4:00 Monday-Friday
Reporting Days: 190, 10 months
Compensation: Hourly
Evaluation Rubric: Athlos Internal Evaluation
Starting Pay: $15-$16/hr., DOE;
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education: High School diploma; Associates degree preferred
Experience: Classroom experience preferred
Certification: Paraprofessional cert or 60 credit hours
Background: Clear FBI background check
Language: Strong verbal and writing skills in English, Spanish fluency preferred

Job Duties
Classroom Instruction
- Collect the Literacy and numeracy screening results from K-3 teachers and identify students who score Below and Well Below.
- Collect prior year LEAP ELA and Math results for 4th and 5th grade students and identify students who scored Unsatisfactory, Approaching Basic and Basic.
- Create a roster of identified students.
- Within 30 days of identifying eligible students, create a schedule to offer 30 minutes of tutoring during WIN time, three times a week, up to 10 weeks for identified students in groups no larger than four (schedule must be approved by the Principal).
- Rotate to a new tutoring cohort every 10 weeks throughout the school year.
- Track attendance of students who are being tutored.
- Collaborate with supervising teacher to provide instructional support to students.
- Assist students to reach academic success.
- Creates a classroom environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students, and allows them to perform at their very best.
- Utilizes academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics and assessments aligned to Athlos’ 3 foundational pillars of a Prepared Mind, Healthy Body, and Performance Character.
- Collect and report data on students’ academic progress
- Differentiates assistance based on individual needs, learning style, and abilities.
- Ensures student growth and achievement in accordance with grade level standards.

Knowledge and Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Classroom and video platforms such as: Zoom or Teams.
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage the entire classroom.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience working in diverse communities and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives.
- Demonstrated integrity and high standards in managing information in a confidential and professional manner.
