This is a full-time position with a schedule Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm (or 5pm). The pay is $15.00-$17.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This is an onsite role at our center location: 207 Emerson Dr. NW, Palm Bay, FL 32907

The Special Education Teacher of the 4- to 6-year-old age group develops teaching plans according to students’ learning needs. They search for activities and resources that can be easily adapted to each child’s educational requirements. You’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children.
What You’ll Do:
• Responsible for teaching groups of students with mild or moderate disabilities
• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor progress and update strategies as needed
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
• Modify existing curriculum on basic subjects to meet each student’s learning requirements and build individual lesson plans tailored to their specific needs.
• Monitor children’s behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed
• Manage classroom crises and resolve conflict
• Create a safe, supportive, inclusive classroom environment to meet varied developmental needs
• Collaborate with the support staff to create intervention plans
• Inform parents about their children’s performance and potential problems
What We Need from You:
• High school diploma and/or degree in special education
• Pass Level II DCF background check
• Valid state Special Education certificate
• FL DCF 45 hour and/or CDA required

• At least 1 year of professional early childhood training/experience
• CPR and First Aid Certification required
• Fire Extinguisher Training
• Ability to obtain necessary certifications and/or Licensures within 30 days of employment
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills
• Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed
• Effective in communicating with both students and parents to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.
