Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Austin, TX, supporting K-12 students in a dynamic school environment. This role focuses on providing both push-in and pull-out services to approximately 12 students in grades 6-12. The position requires a dedicated professional passionate about literature and experienced in facilitating ARD meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver push-in and pull-out special education services tailored to individual student needs.
- Engage students with a strong emphasis on high school literature, discussing works such as Tom Sawyer, Chronicles of Narnia, Helen Keller: Story of My Life, Homer's Odyssey, and My Antonia.
- Actively participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, contributing valuable insights and remendations.
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Educator License with EC-12 Special Education Endorsement.
- Demonstrated experience and fort in attending and contributing to ARD meetings.
- Passionate about literature and capable of engaging students in meaningful discussions about diverse texts.
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills to support student development and collaborate with team members.
Work Schedule and Location:
- Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Located in Austin, TX.
- Contract position for the full school year (NSY).
