Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school in Waterloo, IL is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for the 20252026 school year on a contract basis. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality instruction and support to young learners with diverse needs in an inclusive early childhood setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum aligned with district goals and early learning standards
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports individualized and small-group instruction
- Design lesson plans that create meaningful learning experiences
- Continuously assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies to meet individual needs, including those of students with special needs
- Provide targeted instruction in foundational skills such as munication, social-emotional growth, early literacy, numeracy, and self-help skills
- Promote positive behavior and responsible citizenship in pliance with district policies and relevant laws
- Participate in IEP development, implementation, and monitoring for students on caseload
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and other educators to encourage student success
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in early childhood and special education
Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching certification in Early Childhood Special Education, or special education certification with the willingness to obtain an early childhood endorsement
- Passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development
- Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices
