This opportunity is for a Physical Education teacher specializing in General Education for grades K5, available from August 2025 through May 2026. The position is based in an elementary school environment within Syracuse, KS, offering a contract for the full school year. The role involves delivering quality PE instruction to young learners in small class settings, supported by experienced staff and access to excellent facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement engaging physical education lessons for K5 students
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages physical activity and teamwork
- Utilize classroom management skills to maintain a safe and structured learning atmosphere
- Collaborate with school staff to support student development and wellness
- Participate in coaching activities as opportunities arise
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Education or related field (minimum requirement)
- Valid Kansas Teaching License or eligibility to obtain one
- Physical Education endorsement is required
- Transition to Teaching candidates will be considered
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to manage classrooms effectively and engage young learners
Position Details:
- Location: Syracuse, KS
- Schedule: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day), August 2025 May 2026
- Caseload: Elementary (K5) Physical Education instruction
