Job Description
Job Description
We are now hiring a Lead Toddler Teacher for our beautiful Guidepost Montessori school at Deerbrook!
Join us in creating an environment where toddlers are supported in their natural development—growing in independence, confidence, and curiosity.
Your Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Toddler Teacher to support a mixed-age class of toddlers in a Montessori setting.
In a Montessori classroom, teachers thoughtfully prepare an environment that fosters independence and captivates a child's natural interest. They provide personalized support, working with children one-on-one and in small groups to guide them through hands-on materials and meaningful activities.
Because of this individualized approach, children have the freedom to explore, choose their work, and build confidence in their capabilities. As a Lead Toddler Teacher, you will play a crucial role in helping each child reach their highest potential.
As a Lead Toddler Teacher, You Will:
-
Observe and respond to each child's developmental needs—physical, emotional, and intellectual
-
Prepare a beautiful, orderly classroom that encourages exploration, trust, and deep learning
-
Cultivate independence by helping children do things for themselves with confidence and pride
-
Give lessons that support language development, practical life skills, and social-emotional growth
-
Build strong, respectful relationships with each child
-
Partner with families to ensure consistent, individualized support across home and school
The Montessori Prepared Environment
Each Guidepost classroom is fully equipped with high-quality Montessori materials and a budget to personalize your space. Classrooms are intentionally designed to be warm, beautiful, and inviting—supporting every child's need to move freely, explore deeply, and develop independence.
A toddler classroom includes:
-
Spacious areas for movement and exploration
-
Child-sized furniture and real, functional objects
-
Materials that support toilet learning, dressing, feeding, and care of the environment
-
Natural light, cozy rugs, and live plants
-
Real materials (wood, metal, glass) rather than plastic
-
Objects to climb, crawl, and investigate—no walkers or highchairs here!
You're a Great Fit If You:
-
Have experience working with children ages 0–3 in daycare, preschool, or similar settings
-
Hold (or are willing to earn) a Montessori diploma through our fully-sponsored training program
-
Are familiar with, or open to learning, child-led education models like Montessori or Reggio Emilia
-
Have 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development credits
-
Hold a Bachelor's degree in ECE, Child Development, or a related field
What We Offer:
-
A chance to be part of a high-quality Montessori program that supports the whole child
-
Fully-sponsored Montessori training through the Prepared Montessorian Institute
-
75% tuition discount for up to two children in our network of schools (ages 3 months–12 years)
-
Ongoing professional development and collaboration with passionate peers
-
Abundant opportunities for career growth and leadership roles
-
Competitive salary
-
Health, dental, and vision insurance
-
Paid time off and paid holidays
