Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required.
A rewarding opportunity is available for experienced educators specializing in supporting students with visual impairments. This position serves K-12 students and is designed for a full academic school year contract, providing a stable and impactful teaching environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments.
- Utilize specialized teaching methods and assistive technologies to enhance learning and accessibility.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers to support student success.
- Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to meet evolving needs.
- Provide direct instruction in braille, orientation and mobility, and other essential skills for visually impaired students.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with a specialization in visual impairment or a related field.
- Proven experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive educational materials.
- Excellent munication and collaboration skills.
- Patience, creativity, and dedication to fostering inclusive learning environments.
