Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required.
Seeking qualified Teachers for the Visually Impaired to support elementary school students in Ladson, SC. This position is a contract role for the uping school year, focused on delivering specialized instruction and support to visually impaired learners.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of visually impaired elementary students.
- Utilize specialized teaching methods and assistive technologies to facilitate student learning and independence.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure students receive prehensive support.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to meet educational goals.
- Provide training and guidance to school personnel on best practices for supporting visually impaired students.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children who have visual impairments.
- Strong knowledge of educational strategies and assistive technology for visually impaired students.
- Effective munication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to develop and implement tailored instructional plans.
