Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers a rewarding opportunity for a Special Education Teacher dedicated to supporting middle school students with diverse learning needs. Serving during the 2025-2026 school year, the role involves working in a self-contained CDC classroom, where you will provide tailored educational instruction and support to a caseload of six students with significant needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down's Syndrome, and medical fragility.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet each student's unique needs.
- Collaborating with support staff, including nursing professionals, to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
- municating effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote student growth.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting on educational outes.
Preferred qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with students diagnosed with ASD, Down's Syndrome, or other significant disabilities.
- Ability to work passionately and patiently in a specialized classroom setting.
- Strong munication and collaboration skills.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., aligned with the school calendar for the 2025-2026 academic year. This contract role provides an impactful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students requiring specialized educational support.
