Divisional Administrator For Special Education (FT-12 Month)

ESBOCES is looking for an experienced educational leader who values diversity, equity and inclusion; who has experience working
with multiple constituents, agencies and districts; and who is positioned to run successful programming in support of all learners.

This critical position serves as a leader within the department, agency and the region to promote the development and delivery of
special education services. The Divisional Administrator for Special Education reports directly to the Director for Special Education.

Qualifications:
NYS SDA or SDL Certification
Experience with students with special needs
Knowledge of Part 200 Regulations

Knowledge and experience with Next Generation Standards,

curriculum, instruction and assessments

Knowledge of state reporting including but not limited to
Level 0, Civil Rights Data Collection, and APPR

Minimum (3) three years of administrative experience
Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and
contributing to an inclusive working and learning
environment with strong communication interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

+ Actively promote diversity, equity and inclusion practices
throughout the agency by creating a warm, welcoming and
affirming work environment
Create, share and role model the mission and vision of the
agency and Special Education Department
Lead and supervise a diverse staff while building trusting
relationships with staff and students
Supervise and direct school operations in accordance with
Board policies and regulations
Provide strong collaborative leadership with an honest,
transparent and inclusive style that supports high student
outcomes and educational excellence
Provide comprehensive support to building leadership in all
aspects of school operations, including building coverage,
crisis response, Board policies and Regulations

Comply with all APPR requirements and collective bargaining
agreements, completing observations and evaluations, as well
as data collection for state reporting

Coaching and developing of staff to determine strengths and
offset weaknesses

+ Obtain and maintain certification as a Crisis Prevention

nstitute (CPI) trainer, providing leadership in crisis prevention
and delivering ongoing training and support to all staff in
alignment with best practices for safety and de-escalation
Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to high achievement,
social-emotional and whole child development of all students
Develop and carryout action plans related to Strategic Planning
including data collection & progress monitoring of strategic goals
Oversee the collection, organization, and analysis of data

‘or state reporting, ensuring compliance with formatting
standards and submission deadlines
Provide leadership in overseeing curriculum development
and implementation, managing departmental curriculum
budgets and expenditures, assessing department instructional
needs, and strategically allocates curriculum funds to support
teaching and learning goals
Assess and refine curriculum to ensure alignment with state
and federal standards, educational best practices, and the
diverse needs of students.
Lead the coordination and administration of NYS Regents
exams, NYS grades 3-8 assessments, and the NYSESLAT,
ensuring accuracy, security, and data integrity in accordance
with state regulations

Hire and/or assist in securing a diverse workforce

Salary: $168,142
Start Date: July 1, 2025
