We're currently seeking a dedicated LBS1 certified High School Special Education Teacher ($42-53/hr) to support high school students in the Chicago, IL area. We are welcoming new graduates with LBS1 certifcation also!

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Special Education or Related Studies
  • LBS1 certification through ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education)
  • Bilingual is a plus but not required
  • New Graduates are welcome

Role Overview:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will support students with diverse learning needs by creating inclusive and personalized educational plans that help them thrive both academically and emotionally. This role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment while making a lasting impact on their development.

Job Details:

  • Ful-time, in-person
  • Schedule:  Monday- Friday
  • Dates:  August 11, 2025- May 29, 2026
  • Hours: 7:25am- 3:15pm
  • Co-Taught High School Caseload
  • New Grads with LBS1 are welcome!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accommodate, modify and adapt lessons and curriculum as needed to meet individual student needs and IEP Goals
  • Support in the facilitation of IEP meetings as well as development of the IEP
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental levels and interests of their students
  • Set and communicate clear expectations for classroom behavior and school environment by applying positive reinforcement and/or behavior modification techniques as needed. Assist in the development and implementation of student behavior intervention plans
