ABA Training Coordinator

Strive Center for Autism is seeking an ABA Training Coordinator to join our team. This role involves continuous development and delivery of training programs for ABA Therapists and other staff, focusing on best practices in applied behavior analysis for children aged 2-8 with autism. This role will require travel to all Strive Center locations. This is a salaried position of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

● Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for new and existing ABA Therapists, covering topics such as ABA treatment protocols, skill acquisition programs, behavior intervention protocols, and data collection.

● Engage in continuous quality improvement for any Strive training programs and materials.

● Coordinate the delivery of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training to all ABA Therapists via company software.

● Monitor progress towards completion of new hire training via New Hire Training Guide

● Coordinate completion of all required trainings for ABA Therapists, including Medicaid requirements, HIPAA training, and Blood Borne Pathogen training.

● Serve as a liaison for Strive leadership and trainees, coordinating activities and assigning duties to other leadership team members as needed.

● Provide ongoing professional development and learning opportunities for staff.

● Ensure all training aligns with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Code of Ethics.

● Collaborate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to ensure training content reflects current best practices and client needs.

● Assist in the recruitment and retention of staff.

● As part of ongoing training, complete observations and provide feedback for ABA Therapists in all locations.

● Maintain availability to the Strive Center team during scheduled work hours, in various Strive Center locations as needed.

● Participate in Leadership Team meetings and staff meetings as required.

● Complete close visual activity on a computer screen.

● Maintain a high level of organizational skills.

● Possess great written and oral communication skills.

Required Qualifications:

● RBT certification for at least 2 years; maintain RBT certification.

● Maintain certification in Crisis Management; may include becoming certified as a PCM Instructor.

● Experience implementing ABA programs with children with Autism.

● Ability to interact professionally with parents and team members.

● Ability to multi-task.

● Manage a changing schedule to ensure new hires receive best possible training experience; flexibility and willingness to work in any Strive center location as needed.

● Comfort with utilization of technology for virtual meetings, slideshows, sharing videos as needed for training.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

In order to successfully perform the essential duties of this job, the employee must be able to meet the following physical demands:

● Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

● Complete all requirements for PCMA training as a Practitioner; may be required to complete all requirements for PCMA training as an Instructor.

● Stand and walk frequently.

● Move quickly to keep up with small children.

● Play actively.

● Push children (weighing up to 150 pounds) on a swing.

● Sit on a stool or chair for up to 30 minutes at a time.

● Sit on the floor for up to 30 minutes at a time.

● Get up from the floor quickly.

● Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year.

● Withstand a moderate noise level.

Additional Responsibilities Related to Dual Locations

● This trainer will work in all Strive Center locations.

● This trainer may also serve as a substitute therapist for regular therapist absences.

● Whenever possible, the Training Coordinator will be able to plan a schedule in advance, however, this role may be expected to change locations suddenly when needed.

● This therapist must be comfortable jumping in to work with a wide variety of clients, as the therapist may work with any Strive Center client in any location.

● Whenever possible, the Training Coordinator will be scheduled to spend an entire work day in one location, however, the therapist may be asked to travel between the locations in one day (mileage would be provided in this instance.) It is preferred that the Training Coordinator plan activities to allow working in one location per day.

● This therapist must be comfortable receiving feedback from any of our BCBAs, as the therapist will work with children on all caseloads, and will train all new hires.

● When there are no current training needs, this therapist may be asked to work with children or to complete other tasks around the center. This time may also be used to develop training materials or programs.

● Generally, it is expected that this therapist’s schedule will be split between the two centers somewhat equally, but this may vary.
