Position Details:

- Work Arrangement and Hours Per Week: VIRTUAL – 2 to 3 days per week
- Dates: 2025–2026 School Year
- Age Range of Students: K-12
- Experience: Minimum 1 year full time experience as a VI Teacher. Prior Virtual/Remote experience strongly preferred
Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI / VIT) – Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment and instructional services to visually impaired children, including individual assessments, direct instruction, and collaboration with school staff, families, and external providers
- Establish caseloads, procedures, and resources needed to manage vision programs and support IEP goals
- Deliver direct services through classroom presentations, co-teaching in general education settings, and in-service sessions for staff and parents
- Provide targeted instruction to visually impaired students in both group and 1:1 formats
- Consult with teachers, parents, school personnel, and other professionals to share insights, recommend services, and develop comprehensive educational plans
- Utilize and provide training on assistive technologies such as BrailleNote, refreshabraille with iPads, ZoomText, Duxbury, and other computer-based accessibility tools
License - Education - Certification Requirements:
- Required: Minimum of a Master's degree in a related field
- Required: Active State Teaching License as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, with any additional state-mandated endorsements
