The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Baldwin Wallace University invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty members from nurses with teaching experience at either the collegiate level or in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

The following outlines the essential functions of the position and is not to be considered a detailed description of all duties inherent in the position.

  • Provide direct supervision of students in the clinical setting and lab settings.
  • Prepare students to think critically, communicate accurately, and perform indicated therapeutic nursing interventions in assigned patient care situations.
  • Collaborate with the director of clinical education in structuring clinical assignments to assist students in the application of theoretical learning to clinical patient situations.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to enhance student learning.
  • Participate in nursing faculty meetings and department/university events.

Required (Minimum) Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience as a registered nurse,
  • Evidence of clinical competency in Medical-Surgical or specialty (pediatric, obstetric, behavioral health) nursing,
  • A current, valid, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio,
  • Clean background check and drug screen (to be done after interview), and
  • Earned nursing degree:
    1. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) -- required if the basic nursing degree is not a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    2. Applicants with a BSN must be currently enrolled in a program leading to a master’s or doctoral degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned MSN degree with a specialization in Nursing Education or coursework in instruction, curriculum development and/or student evaluation.
  • Professional experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Earned PhD or DNP degree.
  • Nursing scholarship or research experience.
