A high school is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract position in Chicago, IL, for the uping school year. This role involves delivering specialized instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, fostering their academic and social development within an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards.
- Modify general education curriculum to acmodate student learning differences.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress.
- Monitor and document student performance, providing regular updates on growth and areas needing improvement.
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to create a positive and supportive educational setting.
- Participate in meetings related to student assessments and intervention plans.
Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching certification/license.
- Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and individual education plan development.
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to various learning styles and abilities.
- Excellent munication and teamwork skills.
