Fairmont Anaheim Hills Campus is seeking a dedicated and skilled Middle School English Language Learners (ELL) Teacher to join our semi-sheltered program within our IFC (International Foundation Center) Department. This position focuses on developing students’ English proficiency through content-based instruction in English, History, Science, and a dedicated language development class. The ideal candidate will be adept at differentiating instruction to support a mixed-grade level class with varying language abilities and have experience working with young international students.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement engaging, content-based lessons that integrate the four skills of language learning: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Teach English, History, Science, and an ELL-focused language course to middle school students.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse language proficiency levels within a mixed-grade level classroom.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including scaffolding, visual aids, hands-on activities, and collaborative learning.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to take linguistic risks.
  • Assess students' progress regularly and adjust instruction to meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, including content-area teachers and support staff, to align curriculum and provide comprehensive student support.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and language development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ELL and content-based instruction.

Requirements:

Must hold a bachelors degree in Education or related field

Must be able to use technology effectively in the classroom

Must be able to communicate with entire school community-students, parents, faculty, staff
