A school in Norristown, PA is seeking qualified Special Education Teachers for middle school positions for the uping school year. There are 5-6 openings available with two distinct roles to fill:
- Intensive Learning Support: Primarily self-contained classrooms with some students attending lunch and Social Studies outside the class
- Pull-Out Resource: Providing targeted Math and Reading interventions for students
Candidates must hold a valid Pennsylvania Special Education Instructional I or II certification for grades 5-8 by the start date of August 25. Emergency or provisional certifications will not be accepted. Candidates who do not currently have the certification must be able to obtain it prior to the start of the school year.
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week contract position. The workday runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Fridays are half-days for students, with teachers paid for the remainder of the day dedicated to professional development.
Responsibilities include creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), supporting student learning both in self-contained and resource settings, and collaborating with team members to ensure the academic and social growth of students with special needs.
Teachers will be provided with a work email address and a laptop to support classroom and administrative duties.
