Schedule/Shift: 8 hour days, up to 3 days per week Monday-Friday
Key Functions
- Develop and implement curriculum for the nurse residency program.
- Mentor nurse residents and nurse resident preceptors.
- Develop, implement and evaluate educational activities to promote nursing professional development; includes but is not limited to PCS monthly orientation, annual training and continuing education credits for Menninger nursing staff.
- Collaborate with other professionals in preparing and implementing interdisciplinary educational activities.
- Serves as the TNA nurse planner and assists in providing nursing continuing education at The Menninger Clinic. Serves as Chair of the Nursing Education Council and a member of the Menninger Education Council.
- Provide consultation in the interpretation of research findings and results and determine implications for standards, policy, and nursing practice.
- Provide expertise to nurses related to nursing theory, research, and evidence based practice.
- Provide clinical consultation to nurses and interdisciplinary professionals regarding nursing practice and interdisciplinary care.
- Provide consultation to nursing shared governance.
- Provide guidance regarding the integration of research and quality improvement studies to practice.
- Collaborate in the conduct of interdisciplinary research.
- Analyze research and quality improvement data.
- Assist with dissemination of research, quality improvement findings, evidence-based practices, and/or nursing scholarship.
Education: Required: Bachelors in Nursing
Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing
License/Certification Required: Current license to practice nursing in the State of Texas. Board certified in psychiatric mental health nursing or nursing executive certification
Experience: Three to five years nursing experience or one-year experience with epidemiology/public health.
