Long-Term Substitute - 2nd Grade Teacher (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Location: St. Angela Merici, Metairie, LA

Position Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Start Date: December 2025

End Date: 8 weeks

We are seeking a long-term substitute teacher to cover a 2nd grade classroom during a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for teaching, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to supporting young learners in a structured and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities Include:

· Planning and delivering daily lessons in core subjects (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies)
· Assessing students and maintain records
· Maintaining classroom routines and expectations
· Assessing student progress and communicating with families as needed
· Collaborating with grade-level team and support staff

Requirements:

· Teaching license in elementary education
· Experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Positive, team-oriented attitude
