The Archdiocese of Washington is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for Advancement and Enrollment. This role is responsible for the effective marketing and promotion of Catholic schools at the Archdiocesan, regional, and local levels to increase enrollment, retention, and financial support for Catholic schools.
The Assistant Superintendent for Advancement and Enrollment will develop and maintain a collaborative culture of continuous improvement that supports a system of schools committed to Catholic, standards-based educational excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads a collaborative process among the Catholic Schools Office and other key stakeholders to develop, refine, and implement a comprehensive enrollment management plan that increases and retains enrollment across varied demographics for Catholic schools.
  • Leads a collaborative process among the Catholic Schools Office and other key stakeholders to develop, refine, and implement a comprehensive marketing plan that increases brand recognition and demand for Catholic schools.
  • Provides leadership for the collaboration with Catholic high school admissions processes and represents the CSO in various committees. Works collaboratively with Independent Schools to facilitate marketing efforts undertaken on an inter-organizational or collaborative level.
  • Collaborates with the Development Secretariat to implement professional development and development initiatives in Catholic elementary schools. Supports the implementation of FACTS Giving in archdiocesan schools.
  • Supports the activities of the $6 million Tuition Assistance Program for concurrent years ensuring that the project timeline, enrollment objectives and take-rate targets are achieved. Provides the Catholic Education Foundation with the necessary reports and materials for the semi-annual board meeting.
  • Provides guidance and support to school leadership in budget development and monitoring tuition collection addressing school-level budgetary concerns to ensure financial sustainability. Maintains and monitors school budget documents provided by the ADW finance office.
  • Manages the CSO budget for the Superintendent providing leadership expense reports and monitoring cost centers.
  • Leads assigned Advancement and Enrollment cost centers, develops yearly budget proposals and justifications as needed, and tracks expenditures monthly to ensure that projects and initiatives stay within budget.
  • Provides direct support for under-enrolled schools with enrollment management and marketing strategy development. Develops, implements, and supports enrollment management and marketing workshops for the ongoing professional development of pastors, principals, staff, and volunteers.
  • Supports the work of the Superintendent and Associate Superintendent by serving on the Catholic Schools Office leadership teams and providing content specific and general leadership support to school principals.
  • Responds to parent inquiries regarding school enrollment, marketing, and development policy related issues.
  • Attends and presents at principal meetings on enrollment management, marketing, budgeting, and development content.
  • Supervises the design and layout of all marketing materials, including but not limited to website, annual report, brochures, collateral materials, and event promotional materials. Oversees third-party service providers to ensure budgetary and timeline objectives are met.
  • Supervises major communication initiatives such as mass distribution communications and newsletters.
  • Supervises the Director of Marketing and Enrollment and the Hispanic Enrollment, Marketing & Administrative Assistant to ensure achievement of their goals.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church and her mission.
  • Leadership, development skills, and experience in managing enrollment management, marketing and development initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of professional maturity and integrity.
  • Experience in Catholic School and/or Archdiocesan leadership, with a focus on marketing, enrollment management, and advancement initiatives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Canva.
  • Master’s degree in educational leadership or a related field preferred.

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Regular full-time employee (40 hours/week); occasional travel to Archdiocesan schools required. Occasional evening work may be required.

This is a full-time position and will report to the Secretary for Catholic Schools and Education Superintendent
The salary for this role is $105,000 to $120,000 with excellent benefits
