A K-12 school in Plainfield, NJ is seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher with expertise as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) for a contract position covering a maternity leave. This role focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to preschool students with disabilities, ensuring their access to appropriate educational programs from September 22, 2025, to February 13, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct prehensive evaluations and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for preschool students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with families, classroom teachers, and support staff to implement tailored instructional strategies.
- Provide direct instruction and intervention services to children with learning disabilities and other special needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust intervention plans accordingly.
- Maintain accurate documentation in pliance with state and federal regulations.
- Support the transition of students into kindergarten and elementary school settings.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
- Certification or qualification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC).
- Experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of disability laws, early childhood education, and intervention strategies.
- Excellent munication and teamwork skills.
