Job DescriptionSalary:

The Point is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School Math Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in math to students, following the established curriculum while maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned math courses
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the state standards and curriculum guidelines.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying academic levels, learning styles, and needs.
  • Assign and grade student work, including essays, projects, quizzes, and exams, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Foster an engaging, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to motivate and challenge students.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including grades, attendance, and behavioral notes.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to keep them informed of student progress and any concerns.
  • Attend departmental meetings and collaborate with other teachers to support student achievement and department initiatives.
  • Uphold school policies and maintain professional standards of conduct at all times.
  • Support students in developing essential skills such as critical thinking, writing proficiency, and literary analysis.
  • Provide classroom supervision and manage student behavior in accordance with school policies.
  • Prepare and facilitate lessons for any required standardized testing or assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in math, education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification in North Carolina, or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Previous teaching experience at the high school level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of math and pedagogy.
  • Ability to create a dynamic and positive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and academic success.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators.
  • Flexibility and a proactive attitude to respond to the needs of the students and the school community.
