Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school in Fort Walton Beach, FL is seeking qualified Teachers for the Visually Impaired for a contract position lasting the full school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Developing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion
- Utilizing assistive technologies and adaptive materials to enhance learning
- Conducting assessments and monitoring student progress
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in teaching students with visual impairments
- Experience working with visually impaired children in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of teaching strategies and assistive technologies for blindness or low vision
- Excellent munication and collaboration skills
