A long-term substitute position is available for a skilled school psychologist serving elementary students in grades K-5. This role provides an excellent opportunity to support young learners in a dynamic, in-person school setting from the start of the school year through March 1.
Located in Waterbury, CT, this contract position requires a Connecticut state license and a masters degree in school psychology. The chosen candidate will play a vital role in supporting students mental health and academic success by conducting evaluations, collaborating with teachers and families, and developing intervention plans tailored to individual needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut state license in school psychology
- Masters degree in school psychology
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (Grades K-5)
- Strong assessment and intervention skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
- Commitment to in-person engagement throughout the contract period
Responsibilities include:
- Administering psychological assessments and interpreting results
- Providing direct support and counseling to students
- Consulting with teachers and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Documenting student progress and maintaining confidential records
