Mississippi Teacher of the Visually Impaired (Virtual)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that meet the unique needs of a pletely blind student fluent in braille.
  • Conduct assessments and provide instructional support in alignment with the students academic goals.
  • Collaborate with parents, school staff, and external specialists to create a cohesive support network.
  • Monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies to facilitate optimal learning outes.
  • Advocate for the students rights and needs within the educational setting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and munication regarding the student's educational journey.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Mississippi teaching license with endorsement in Visual Impairment or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience working with students who have visual impairments, preferably in a K-12 setting.
  • Proficiency in braille and familiarity with assistive technologies for visually impaired students.
  • Strong munication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and families.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach with stakeholders.
