A High School Special Education Teacher-Coordinator plays a dual role in both teaching and administrative coordination. Their responsibilities include:

Teaching Responsibilities:

1. Instruction & Support - Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students' needs.
2. Differentiated Instruction - Adapt curriculum and teaching methods for diverse learning abilities.
3. Behavioral Support - Manage classroom behavior and implement positive reinforcement strategies.
4. Collaboration - Work with general education teachers to ensure inclusion and accommodations.
5. Assessment & Progress Monitoring - Conduct evaluations and track student progress.

Coordinator Responsibilities:

1. IEP Oversight - Ensure IEP compliance, scheduling meetings, and updating documents.
2. Case Management - Serve as the primary contact for students' special education needs.
3. Teacher & Staff Support - Provide training, resources, and guidance for special education strategies.
4. Parent Communication - Facilitate discussions between teachers, parents, and service providers.
5. Compliance & Documentation - Ensure adherence to state and federal special education laws.
