Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students across grades K-11 at a K-12 school in Chapman, KS. This full-time, adapted special education position focuses on delivering tailored instruction and services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring their educational needs are met in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students ranging from kindergarten through 11th grade
- Adapt curricular materials and teaching methods to acmodate students diverse learning needs
- Monitor student progress and modify instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a cohesive educational experience
- Maintain accurate records and reports in pliance with district and state requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid Kansas Adapted Special Education Certification for either PreK-12 or K-12
- Experience in special education, preferably with a caseload of 9 or more students across multiple grade levels
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and special education laws and regulations
- Ability to work collaboratively with educational teams and families
- Excellent munication and organizational skills
Schedule and Position Details:
- Full-time role with scheduled hours from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours/week)
- Contract duration: August 13, 2025, through May 26, 2026
- One campus assignment serving grades Pre-K through 12
- Caseload includes approximately 9 students but may increase with open enrollment
