Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team in Portland, ME. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for supporting the mental health and academic success of students through psychological assessments, interventions, and collaboration with staff and families. Your work will be essential in creating a positive and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct psychological assessments for students to evaluate academic, behavioral, and emotional needs.

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.

Provide direct counseling services to students dealing with emotional, social, or behavioral challenges.

Offer crisis intervention and provide support for students during difficult or traumatic events.

Participate in multidisciplinary teams to assess and support student needs.

Offer training and consultation to staff on topics like behavior management, mental health, and student development.

Advocate for students mental health and well-being within the school community.

Maintain accurate, confidential records of psychological evaluations, counseling sessions, and interventions.
Qualifications:

Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.

State certification as a School Psychologist in Maine.

Experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.

Strong communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and students of diverse backgrounds.

Knowledge of educational practices, mental health strategies, and intervention techniques.
