Job Description The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions is a key role in executing a bold and targeted graduate student recruitment strategy that reflects our commitment to high quality academics. The Assistant Director will work closely with academic deans, program directors, and faculty to promote USJ’s graduate offerings, develop partnerships, and host high-impact recruitment events. The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal skills, technological fluency, and a passion for working with students from a variety of backgrounds.

  • Execute an aggressive and data-informed graduate student recruitment plan; identify and cultivate new recruitment markets; represent the University at off-campus graduate recruitment events
  • Collaborate with faculty and program directors to align recruitment messaging with program strengths and market demand. Serve as the liaison between program directors and prospective students to ensure a seamless admissions process.
  • Plan and host graduate information sessions, open houses, and yield events both on and off campus and in virtual formats.
  • Effectively communicate program options, admissions process and criteria, and financial aid information to prospective students. Provide personalized outreach and communications to prospective students via email, phone, and social platforms.
  • Manage prospective student records through all stages of the funnel using Slate and other systems. Review and evaluate applications.
  • Utilize Slate to manage contacts, monitor engagement, generate reports, and inform recruitment efforts.
  • Assist with market research and assess enrollment trends to continuously refine strategies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, which may include working with undergraduate populations, supervising professional and/or student staff, and serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) for international student support.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of admissions, recruitment, marketing, or enrollment management experience, preferably with graduate or adult student populations.
  • Experience working with CRM and application systems; Slate and Jenzabar experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous customer service or sales experience is a plus.
  • Travel, evening and weekend work required.

    • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, internet tools, and other relevant software. Experience with university-specific systems (e.g., CRM, SIS) is a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort interacting across a wide range of audiences, including diverse populations.
    • Professional and polished demeanor with the ability to represent the University with courtesy and credibility in all settings.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel using a personal and/or rental car for recruiting purposes.
