Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years special education experience required.

Engage students in a dynamic learning environment as a dedicated professional in a self-contained classroom setting. This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational journey of elementary school students with diverse needs.

Location: Cheraw, SC
Duration: Contract for the school year (July 23, 2025 - May 29, 2026)
Schedule: 7.5 - 8 hours per day

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Employ various teaching strategies to engage students and promote active learning.
  • Collaborate with support staff, parents, and other educators to ensure a comprehensive approach to each students education.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation as required by district policies.
  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional methods to meet the varying needs of students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged students in a self-contained classroom.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to develop and implement IEPs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude toward addressing student needs.
