Are you an effective and influential leader who excels at managing the Learning & Development strategy within a financial institution? Are you a highly skilled trainer in both instructional design and facilitation that is passionate about building lifelong learners?

We’d like to welcome a Learning & Development (L&D) Manager to LBS Financial responsible for managing the design and implementation of credit union-wide learning and development programs for all levels of staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager is a strategic leader responsible for designing, evaluating, and optimizing learning programs that enhance employee performance and support the organization’s business goals. This role will assess training needs, develop and implement learning solutions, and drive continuous improvement in employee development. The L&D Manager will oversee direct reports while also collaborating cross-functionally with business leaders, ensuring training initiatives align with company strategy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development within a financial institution or highly regulated industry.
  • Prior experience as an expert trainer, including facilitation, instructional design, and content development.
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically assess, design, and execute learning initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Kirkpatrick), and blended learning methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with LMS administration, content development tools (Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Canva), and virtual training platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing long-term strategy with day-today execution.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience developing and managing a team of L&D professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or a related field.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree or certification in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or Talent Development
  • Experience in compliance and regulatory training specific to the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of HR analytics, workforce planning, and talent development strategies.
  • Familiarity with emerging learning technologies such as AI-driven learning, microlearning, and gamification.

PAY RANGE

In accordance with California’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between:

$90,000 - $120,000

Actual pay will be determined based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including their knowledge, skills, education and experience, internal equity consideration, as well as other job-related factors permitted by law.
