We are currently seeking a School Psychologist to join our exceptional team of educators and student support professionals.
This is a full-time, on-site position with a focus on early childhood and elementary-level support, while serving a PreK12 caseload. The ideal candidate is collaborative, compassionate, and passionate about student-centered psychological services in a school setting.
Position Summary:
As the School Psychologist for Benton-Carroll-Salem Local Schools, you will play a central role in evaluating, supporting, and advocating for the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of our students. You will work closely with teachers, intervention specialists, administrators, and families to provide data-driven insights and services that help every learner reach their full potential.
This position includes approximately 80 re-evaluations and 2030 initial evaluations per year, with a majority of your caseload focusing on PreK through elementary-aged students.
Key Responsibilities:

Assessment & Evaluation:
Conduct psychoeducational evaluations (initials and re-evaluations) for students suspected of having disabilities, interpreting a variety of formal and informal data to inform special education eligibility and planning. -
Collaboration & Consultation:
Partner with teachers, intervention teams, counselors, administrators, and families to develop interventions, supports, and instructional strategies aligned with individual student needs. -
IEP & 504 Support:
Actively participate in IEP and 504 meetings, contributing expertise in student development, learning challenges, and psychological services. -
Early Intervention:
Provide targeted support and intervention planning for PreK and elementary-aged students, focusing on early identification and response to developmental or learning concerns. -
Behavioral & Emotional Support:
Offer direct and consultative support for students experiencing behavioral, emotional, or mental health challenges. May include behavior plans, social-emotional skills training, or collaboration with community-based providers. -
Crisis Response & Safety:
Participate in school-wide crisis intervention and response planning, ensuring emotional safety and preparedness for student support. -
Data & Compliance:
Maintain accurate, timely documentation and reports in accordance with federal and state guidelines, and contribute to data-informed decisions across the district.
Qualifications:
Required:

Valid School Psychologist license from the Ohio Department of Education

Masters or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution

Ability to work full-time onsite (3537.5 hours/week) throughout the academic year

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:

Experience working with PreK and elementary students

Familiarity with Ohio special education regulations and evaluation procedures

Previous experience in a small, community-centered school district
