This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher specializing in high school Life Skills instruction, located in Dallas, TX. The role involves working with a manageable caseload of 12 students supported by 2 paraprofessionals in a newly established Life Skills 3 classroom wing. This position is a contract for the 2025-2026 school year, offering a chance to contribute to a dynamic learning environment focused on life skills development.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Special Education certification EC-12
- Experience teaching Life Skills or special education at the high school level preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals and support staff
- Strong classroom management skills and adaptability in a specialized education setting
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
- Provide direct instruction and support in life skills and academic areas
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and independence
- Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure prehensive support for students
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings
