Basic Function:

This position is responsible for the development, leadership and administration of all aspects of a successful NCAA Division III men’s and women’s swimming program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Directs budget accountability and responsibility for the men’s and women’s swimming program
  2. Recruitment of quality student-athletes while maintaining roster expectations
  3. Maintains awareness of and adheres to College, NCAA and OAC rules and regulations
  4. Supervises and manages coaching staff to follow all College and department expectations
  5. Oversees the academic progress of student-athletes
  6. Establishes and executes practice plans to optimize team and individual skill development
  7. Schedules home and away contests
  8. Coordinates travel and supervises team members during off-campus travel
  9. Develops and meets fundraising goals that support the program’s budget
  10. Performs secondary duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

  1. Performs responsibilities and meets identified objectives in an efficient manner and strives to fulfill the college’s strategic plan.
  2. Works positively in a collaborative role within the Athletic Department and with other College stakeholders.
  3. Strives for excellence in performance of responsibilities and expectations of providing an equitable athletic experience for student-athletes on coed teams.
  4. Knows and abides by College and department policies, guidelines, procedures and expectations.


Qualifications:

  1. Related bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree in related field and at least 2 years of college or related coaching experience.
  2. Evidence of excellent coaching and organizational skills, including budget management.
  3. Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes.
  4. Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with a diverse population.
