School Psychologist (K-5th Grade) in Cary, IL
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist to join our team in Cary, IL for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This position is anticipated to run from approximately August 18, 2025, through the first week of June 2026.
We are primarily looking for a full-time candidate, but we are open to considering highly qualified part-time applicants. This is an on-site only position, with a typical work schedule of 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
About the Role
This School Psychologist position focuses on supporting our K-5th grade elementary students. While our buildings are well-staffed with social workers who manage ongoing counseling caseloads, our School Psychologists are vital to other key areas of student support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Provide immediate, as-needed counseling support to students.
- Offer expert behavioral support and consultation to staff and families.
- Actively participate as a core member of the Problem Solving Team (PST), contributing to intervention development and data analysis.
- Lead and participate in Multi-disciplinary Conferences (MDC) for student evaluations and program planning.
- Serve as an integral member of the building's Crisis Team, providing support during critical incidents.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, social workers, and parents to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Interpret assessment results and write clear, concise, and legally compliant psychological reports.
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist endorsement.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-5th grade) is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations (IDEA, Section 504).
- Proficiency in administering and interpreting a wide range of psychological and educational assessments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
