School Overview
St. Louis Voices Academy of Media Arts is a new, innovative charter public school that opened in the fall of 2023 to serve students and families within the boundaries of St. Louis City. The school started with Kindergarten through First Grade and will add a grade each year, growing to kindergarten through fifth grade. St. Louis Voices Academy of Media Arts is committed to media and storytelling, whole-child development, real-world inquiry, and progressive learner autonomy as design elements that allow the school to fulfill its mission.
Mission: St. Louis Voices Academy of Media Arts leverages media arts and storytelling to equip students with the agency to excel academically, author their own futures, and make meaningful contributions in their communities.
Role Overview
The School Operations Manager believes in the mission of St. Louis Voices Academy of Media Arts and designs, implements, and refines systems that anticipate the needs of our school community and ensure that the instructional staff maximizes time and energy on student achievement. The SOM will ensure smooth daily operations and manage relationships with vendors and contracted service providers. The School Operations Manager will demonstrate the passion, integrity, and systems thinking critical to the success of St. Louis Voices Academy of Media Arts. The SOM is managed by the Director of Business and Operations.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Facilities
- Oversee the custodial team to maintain a clean, safe environment for our students
- Ensure hallways and other public spaces reflect the schools culture, brand, and mission
- Manage the schools maintenance needs
Transportation
- Implement arrival and dismissal procedures that ensure our students enter and leave campus in a safe, orderly fashion
- Partner with vendors to ensure bus routes properly serve our the schools student population
Food Service
- Implement dining schedules that facilitate effective and efficient food service to all students
- Manage the schools relationship with food service vendors to promote consistent service and safe operating practices
Procurement
- Manage procurement processes to ensure the school has all necessary supplies
- Maintain accurate inventory records of the school's assets
- Verify and submit invoices and purchase card charges accrued by the school
Communication
- Maintain communication channels that effectively and efficiently inform parents and guardians of important campus events and deadlines
- Foster good relationships and solid communication with the schools neighborhood community
Enrollment
- Support school student recruitment strategy to ensure 100% of available seats are full
Administrative Activities
- Ensure students and staff have access to needed technology
- Manage copy machine maintenance and supply orders
- Lead the execution of the schools events and field trips
- Maintain a friendly, welcoming, helpful atmosphere for all who visit or contact the school
- Support the coordination of student testing
Other
- Perform all duties as assigned
