JOB SUMMARY:
The Education Coach will provide consultation, coaching, mentoring, and training to Head Start staff, to support school readiness. The Education Coach will use a Practice-Based Coaching model in conjunction with a research-based curriculum to ensure alignment with school readiness goals, Texas Pre-K Guidelines, and Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework. Various strategies, including side-by-side coaching, co-teaching, instructional planning, and reflective feedback, will be used with teaching staff. The Education Coach will collaborate with the Education Coordinator to develop and revise policies, procedures, and service plans per agency policies and Head Start Program Performance Standards, National Association for the Education of Young Children Standards (NAEYC), and licensing Minimum Standards. Traveling between Family Service sites is a requirement for this position.

May supervise students and volunteers.

Represents the agency in the community for human service, training, collaboration, networking and marketing. Works cooperatively with all staff to accomplish the mission, goals, objectives and performance measures of the program and agency.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS AND FUNCTIONS:
Required Competencies/Skills:
1. Healthcare and Human Services Environments: Ability to explain issues and advancements in the healthcare and human services industries.
2. Achievement Orientation: A concern for surpassing a standard of excellence. The standard may be one's own past performance, an objective measure, outperforming others, challenging goals, or something that has not been done previously.
3. Community Orientation: Ability to align one's own and the organization's priorities and assess and address community needs in an evidence-based and holistic manner, one that addresses the social determinants of health through a trauma-informed lens.

Education/Training/Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required. Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
2. Three years of experience teaching in an early childhood education program required.
3. Experience training or coaching adults preferred.
4. Knowledge of research-based early childhood education curriculum, materials, and instructional strategies. A strong understanding of early childhood screenings and assessments.
5. Understanding of Texas Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines, Head Start Child Outcomes, NAEYC guidelines, and Child Care Licensing Standards
1. Working knowledge of technology (Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, videotaping, uploading, etc.)
2. Access to transportation for travel between sites and the ability to occasionally travel for training and conferences.
3. Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, speak) desirable.
- Staff will be required to submit proof of their vaccination status or may request to be exempt from vaccination due to a religious and/or medical accommodation.
5. State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance.
6. Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) reliable observer certification in Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K within six months of hire
