SUMMARY: (Summary description of the primary duties and objectives of the position.)

The Associate Director of Philanthropy is a key member of Anixter Center’s Development Team, supporting the organization's strategic fundraising goals through coordinated donor engagement, stewardship, event planning, and campaign initiatives. This role is responsible for managing appeals, donor communications, corporate partnerships, and supporting major fundraising and volunteer events. The ideal candidate is a mission-driven relationship-builder with a keen attention to detail and a passion for serving vulnerable communities. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (Individual duties, assignments, and responsibilities required of the position.)

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of annual giving appeals and fundraising campaigns. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling campaign messaging and outreach strategies. 
  • Manage and execute daily donor stewardship efforts, ensuring timely and meaningful touchpoints. 
  • Develop and implement personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for individual and institutional donors. 
  • Create and manage donor-facing content through Constant Contact, including newsletters, updates, and impact reports. 
  • Prepare customized donor correspondence, proposals, presentations, and briefing materials. 
  • Strengthen and expand corporate relationships through sponsorship opportunities, philanthropic support, and strategic engagement. 
  • Identify prospective partners and connect them with relevant internal stakeholders and program opportunities. 
  • Conduct donor research to inform strategy and solicitations. 
  • Analyze giving patterns and engagement trends to refine fundraising approaches. 
  • Support the Director of Philanthropy in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of fundraising events, including the annual gala, donor cultivation events, open houses, and other engagement opportunities. 
  • Assist with sponsor solicitation, event communications, logistics, and post-event stewardship. 
  • Support the Director of Philanthropy in planning, coordinating, and evaluating volunteer events that promote community involvement and support Anixter Center programs. 
  • Help facilitate internal and external volunteer engagement initiatives, including corporate volunteer days and community partnerships. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (Competencies, skills, abilities, experience, education necessary.)

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years working in a non-profit setting.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills. 
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments. 
  • Ability to promote and adhere to company values.
