Purpose and Scope:
. The goal of this position is to maximize business practices to provide high quality customer service and help develop the product support team. This position will assist the service department with daily operations via telephone communications, computer skills and other administrative functions. They will assist in all aspects of facilitating, invoicing and processing service requests.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct assistance to service manager and technician needs.
• Communicate with customers and receive orders to make repairs to customer’s equipment.
• Determines warranty status on work orders.
• Receive check-in calls from mechanics by phone or in person.
• Maintain and use various parts and technical libraries.
• Provide direct assistance to the product support team on all daily operations.
• Procure all necessary paperwork from the mechanic needed to invoice work order in timely order.
• Answer incoming requests to the service department via phone or email.
• Assist with maintaining service scheduling.
• Keep records of repairs, installation, removal of equipment and hours required for each job
• Prepare and finalize all the information needed to file warranty claims.
• Prepare EMR’s for technician use.
• Review tech hours to payroll each week for accuracy.
Job Requirements:
• Customer service background/knowledge
• Basic training in computer skills
• Basic knowledge of crane/heavy machinery components and operation a plus
Education/Training Requirements:
• Associate’s Degree (A.A.) OR equivalent from two-year college/technical school; OR six months to one year related experience/training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Abilities:
• Ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner with customers and co-workers
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Write routine reports and correspondence in Microsoft Office
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to make effective decisions
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and a willingness to be flexible and adaptive to change
• Ability to handle irate/disgruntled customers in a professional manner
• Organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful, and multi-task-oriented environment
• Able to prioritize duties as required or as circumstances arise
Work Environment:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
