Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years school psychologist experience required.

A full-time School Psychologist position is available for the upcoming school year at a K-12 institution in Newport News, VA. This contract role offers an opportunity to provide essential psychological services that support student learning, development, and wellbeing from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and inform educational planning
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide counseling and intervention services to support students social, emotional, and behavioral health
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies
  • Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid School Psychologist certification or licensure in Virginia
  • Experience working with K-12 students in school settings
  • Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school staff, students, and families
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
