An exciting opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to provide dedicated support and instruction to K-12 students in a nurturing school environment located in Joliet, IL. This position is a contract role for the uping school year, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students specific needs
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to acmodate various learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to meet goals
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and confidence
Desired Qualifications:
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS I) endorsement
- Experience working with K-12 students across various grade levels
- Strong understanding of special education laws, best practices, and instructional strategies
- Excellent munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
