Position: 7th Grade Math Teacher
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19141
Compensation: $45 per hour

What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Designing a comprehensive scope and sequence that aligns perfectly with PSSA standards.
- Creating engaging weekly lesson plans that meet state standards and complement the current curriculum.
- Providing timely, constructive grading and feedback to guide student learning.
- Collaborating with your grade-level team to uphold school-wide and grade-specific expectations.
- Building strong, positive relationships with students to foster a safe and motivating learning environment.
- Communicating regularly with families to keep them involved and informed about their child’s progress.
- Coordinating with ESL and special education teachers to support diverse student needs.
- Attending after-school events as needed to contribute to the school community.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of every student in your care.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree and PA teaching certification (required).
- Strong knowledge of math concepts and instructional strategies tailored to middle school learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to apply educational psychology, problem-solving, and decision-making skills effectively.
- Comfort with technology including Google Suite for Education, Student Information Systems, and classroom tools like document cameras and projectors.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and talk for extended periods.
- Capability to lift 20-25 lbs, push objects, and move between seated and standing positions.
- Comfortable navigating stairs and performing physical tasks related to student supervision and safety.
