A temporary opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to provide maternity leave coverage at a middle school in Mount Prospect, IL. This contract position runs from August 27 to November 21, offering a focused teaching role with a defined timeline ideal for retirees or professionals seeking short-term assignments without a long-term commitment.
Responsibilities include managing a diverse caseload of 12 middle school students, combining self-contained and resource classroom settings. The position requires delivering individualized instruction tailored to each student's needs, monitoring progress, and collaborating with school staff and families to support student success.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) certification required
- Experience teaching middle school students with special education needs
- Ability to manage a caseload involving a mix of self-contained and resource students
- Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate with educators, parents, and support staff
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Work Schedule and Location:
- Monday through Friday, 7:40 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Located in Mount Prospect, Illinois
