Summary

Stepping Stones Children's Center is a small, non-profit, Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool serving 15-18 children, seeking a 40-hour/week teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate has passion for working with children ages 2-5 years and a background in curriculum planning/delivery. We are outdoors every day so teachers should love nature and look forward to forming strong, lasting relationships with children, families, and co-teachers. BA in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with Vermont licensure is preferred and we support professional development to help you move from an Associates Degree to a Bachelor's Degree. This post requires: at least 2 years experience working with this age group, a strong work ethic, a desire to excel in the profession and the ability to lift 30lbs.


Duties

Develop, document, implement and reflect upon emergent curriculum to meet developmental goals and activities
Have respectful communication with families, children, and co-workers
Love to laugh every day
Follow all licensing guidelines
Advance your personal professional development and keep records in BFIS and a physical portfolio
Provide a safe, thriving, loving, and respectful environment for all students in the Center
Maintain Center cleanliness and organization
Work extremely well as a member of a collaborative teaching team
Use TSG and other forms of assessment to formally asses the children in your core group twice per year
Perform Parent/Teacher conferences at least twice per year

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelors degree with ECE endorsement
  • Great sense of humor and a passion for working with young children
  • MUST be reliable and dependable
  • 1-2 years of teaching experience or work directly with children
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Experience developing and implementing curriculum
  • Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the room, as well as lifting children and other physical requirements of teaching
  • Ability to maintain a safe and confidential classroom environment
  • Pass complete background checks and fingerprinting
  • Proficient in English
  • Exceptionally reliable
