Your Role as an Education Director
- IEP Oversight and Compliance: Ensure full IEP compliance by training and supporting staff, establishing intake-to-review systems, tracking all required documents, and partnering with the Campus and Program Directors for regular student-file audits.
- Teacher Training and Instructional Support: Train teachers on PDE-aligned IEP processes, support standards-based instruction and curriculum development, ensure timely lesson plan submission, and conduct formal observations and walkthroughs with collaborative feedback.
- Assessment and Student Progress Monitoring: Oversee KTEA testing at student entry and discharge, ensure completion of at least two career strands per student, and facilitate documentation submission to district representatives.
- Program and Licensing Compliance: Support PDE licensing compliance and collaborate with Campus and Regional Directors to implement and monitor MTSS.
- Mission Alignment and Ethical Standards: Uphold the organization’s mission and values while ensuring confidentiality, compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies, and adherence to mandated reporting laws.
- Professional Conduct and Collaboration: Demonstrate professionalism by maintaining respectful communication and boundaries, using resources responsibly, fostering a positive work environment, addressing issues constructively, remaining open to feedback, and adhering to all staff and youth care policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Human Resources or related field (Master's preferred)
- PA Special Education Teaching Certification or Supervisor of Special Education Certificate OR minimum of five years in a leadership role working with children with learning and behavioral challenges, including at least three years of teaching and/or supervisory experience.
Preferred (Nice to Have) Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Administrative certification (e.g., Principal or Supervisor of Special Education).
- Prior leadership, supervisory or administrative experience in an educational environment
- Strong understanding with various curricula, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and Behavior Plans.
- Familiarity with PA Department of Education regulations.
