A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support high school students in El Prado, NM. This contract role is for the entire school year, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. The focus of this position is on providing specialized instruction within a high school setting, with a preference for candidates who have experience in special education math.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Deliver effective instruction aligned with special education standards and high school curriculum.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to enhance student learning and social development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with district and state regulations regarding special education services.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with high school students, particularly in delivering special education math instruction.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, assessment tools, and instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and adapt to the individual needs of students.

Location: El Prado, NM
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Duration: Full school year contract
