Position Title: Child Care Assistant Manager
Reports To: Child Care Manager
Supervises: Child Care Supervisors, Child Care Attendants, Janitors/Maintenance, Cooks
Summary of Position
Responsible for the planning, implementation and supervision of the Childcare program, including management of team members, finance and facilities; program development; and public relations.

- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and are subject to change at management’s discretion:
- Directs and conducts the activities of the resort’s childcare program in accordance with established resort procedures;
- Recommends changes to improve childcare program and reviews ongoing activities;
- Ensures the health and safety of all children in the program;
- Ensures the staff and facility remain in compliance with required regulations and IMGR&C policies and procedures;
- Select, train, evaluate and develop qualified staff to support childcare operations;
- Establish and maintain positive relationships and appropriate on-going communication with staff, children and parents.
- Monitor revenue and expenses, and implement corrective measures to ensure effective and efficient administration of childcare operations;
- Adheres to all regulatory, departmental, and resort policies and procedures;
- Performs other duties assigned by Manager and/or HR Director.
- Work expectation may include weekends and holidays.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages the personnel in the Childcare department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Mescalero Apache Tribe and IMGR&C policies and procedures. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing issues and resolving conflicts.
- Education and/or Experience Requirements

- High School diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field and/or 3 years’ experience working in a Childcare Facility or related area;
- 1 year management experience in a Childcare Facility or related area;
- Familiar with the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Ability to effectively respond to stressful and changing situations in a varied environment.
- Must be flexible working with children of all ages, race, and disabilities;
- Must be able to set up a productive classroom and make a lesson plan for each class.
- Mescalero Apache Tribal preference; bicultural experience preferred;
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening;
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background investigation;
- Must have proven record of dependability
- Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential duties of this position.
While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. Must be able to use hand held communications devices. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The team member must be able to stand for several hours.

The noise level in the work environment is loud. The team member will be exposed to a second-hand smoke-filled environment. The team member may be exposed to biohazardous fluids such as blood and other body fluids. The team member may be exposed to hostile environments with guest. May be subject to high stress environments.
