Position Summary:
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Principal Faculty position within our emergent Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program (ARC-PA site visit scheduled for January 2027). This 12-month position is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, engaged individual to help shape an innovative PA program and prepare aspiring PAs for transformative health careers to solve problems that change the world. The Principal Faculty member will be primarily responsible for teaching and assessment of various professional and clinical topics throughout the didactic and clinical curriculum. The individual will work closely with the Program Director and other faculty members to ensure that students achieve the required program learning outcomes and entry level PA professional competencies. The individual will also be actively involved with student advising, admissions, new student orientation, faculty meetings and committees, and accreditation.
Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All applicants must be available to report in person to the campus in Albany, NY.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide student instruction in area(s) of clinical expertise, and as designated by the Program Director.
- Evaluate student performance in assigned courses and identify student learning deficiencies.
- Provide remedial instruction in assigned courses.
- Coordinate/direct instruction in assigned courses, including preparation of course syllabus, course LMS site, exam administration, reporting of student performance, and course analysis.
- Performs student advisement and academic counseling.
- Assists the Program Director, the Medical Director, and the Clinical Coordinator in clinical site recruitment, evaluation, and maintenance.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and continuous review of the program’s curriculum.
- Assists the Program Director with program evaluation, development, and accreditation maintenance as needed.
- Participate in student recruitment, admission, and selection processes.
- Service to the department, college, community, and profession.
- If desired, participate in clinical practice (1 day per week) or scholarly activities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Chair of the Department of Allied Health Sciences, and the Dean of the School of Health Sciences.

Education and Experience:
Required:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program or US Medical School.
- Master’s Degree, minimum.
- Physician Assistants must have current and valid NCCPA Certification; New York licensure is preferred.
- Specialty Board Certification is preferred for physicians; New York licensure, or eligibility for licensure, is required.
- At least 3 years of clinical practice experience.
Preferred:
- The ideal candidate will have teaching experience in higher education, or experience serving as a clinical preceptor for healthcare students.
- Experience with ARC-PA Standards and Accreditation.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Additional Information:
This position is based in Albany, NY. The duties and responsibilities of this particular role require the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or interaction with our community, requiring all work to be performed full-time on-site. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. Additional details pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process.
