Position Overview:

As a School Social Worker, you'll play a key role in promoting students well-being by addressing barriers to learning, strengthening family engagement, and connecting school communities to outside resources. Youll collaborate with staff, families, and community partners to ensure that all studentsespecially those facing social, emotional, or environmental challengesreceive the support they need to thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small-group counseling focused on social-emotional learning, behavior, and coping strategies

  • Assess student and family needs and connect them to appropriate community and school-based resources

  • Support students experiencing crises, trauma, or housing instability

  • Participate in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), IEP, and 504 meetings as needed

  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, psychologists, and administrators to design intervention plans

  • Advocate for students and families, helping to reduce barriers related to attendance, behavior, and mental health

  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district, state, and federal guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program

  • Current Nevada School Social Worker license or eligibility to obtain

  • Experience in school settings or with youth/families preferred

  • Strong communication, case management, and advocacy skills

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, cultural competence, and community resources

  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
